What are the benefits of CBD — and is it safe to use?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid without THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana. CBD can be purchased in different forms, including oil, extract, vaporized liquid, and capsules filled with oil. There is a wide variety of CBD-infused food, drink, and beauty items on the market today. You can buy delta 8 edibles or buy CBD edibles online.

Epidiolex is the only FDA-approved CBD product, and it's only available with a prescription. As of now, it can be used to treat two different forms of epilepsy.

Other than Epidiolex, CBD is regulated differently in each state. Research showing the benefits of CBD is currently limited, although it is being explored as a treatment for various illnesses such as Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and anxiety.

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, available by prescription only, is a promising new treatment option for epilepsy. However, more study is required to establish the other advantages of CBD and its safety. CBD oil is healthy and can benefit:

1. Reduce Depression and Anxiety

CBD's calming effect is why it's so widely used. A 2017 Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry study examined 57 men's public speaking fear. Others received 150, 300, or 600 mg of CBD before their talks. 300 milligrams of CBD reduce test anxiety compared to a placebo. 150 and 600 milligrams of CBD caused more stress than 300 milligrams. One study in mice found CBD had antidepressant-like effects. Human trials are needed to confirm whether CBD has the same antidepressant effect. However, we are not claiming its effects, the information is taken from the market reports. So, if you are adding CBD to your routine, make sure to consult an expert for better guidance and knowledge.

2. Treat Epilepsy Syndromes

CBD can cure epileptic seizures. FDA authorized Epidiolex in 2018 to treat Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome in patients at least 2 years old. Three pieces of research support the FDA's decision. 516 Lennox-Gastaut or Dravet syndrome patients got Epidiolex or a placebo. Epidiolex reduced the frequency of participants' seizures when used with other drugs.

3. Reduce PTSD Symptoms

In a small 2018 study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 11 people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) received CBD along with routine psychiatric care for eight weeks in an outpatient psychiatric clinic. Ten of the 11 experienced a decrease in their PTSD symptoms. CBD was generally well tolerated, the researchers write. Four other human trials from 2012 to 2016 suggest CBD reduces PTSD symptoms, although some include THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the main mind-altering element in cannabis.  However, there is no claim about these benefits- these facts are taken from market reports and multiple studies available on the market- therefore if you are adding any CBD or cannabis products to your routine, make sure to study about it properly and consult an expert for better guidance.
